The wise men of old saw a beautiful star,
Led on by its glory they traveled afar;
Over mountains and valley ’til wanderings past,
Their gifts at the feet of the Savior they cast.
Beautiful star of the east
Beautiful star of the east
The star of the east was the herald of day,
The light everlasting that doesn't fade away
Its beams rising higher, O hasten and see,
The Light of the world shines for you and for me.
Beautiful star of the east
Beautiful star of the east
The star of His Word guards His people today,
To sweet joy in Jesus ’tis leading the way.
Then still let us follow and lovingly bring
Our hearts and our off’rings to Jesus our King.
Scatter the shadows of sin far away
Lead us to Jesus, the Star of the day.
Beautiful beautiful star of the east
Beautiful beautiful star of the east

Well maybe it’s not my concern but I wonder what’s beyond the hill
Me and my companions never saw the bountiful meadows of what lies beyond. Our shepherds are stupid, they don’t seem to care. Their eyes are empty and their hands are shaking.
Now bare with me but I would bet my wool on it there’s more to it than the stars will let us see.
We’ll maybe It’s not my concern but my life is short and there is something about to happen. It’s bound to happen. It’s in the air and I know that stars shouldn’t be as big as the one above my head.
But I wonder, about the noise coming from the sky. The hill is on fire. I catch glory with my eye!
Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.
But hold your donkeys. I know what’s going on, it’s a charade, it’s a trap!
I do not believe in miracles, I follow the flock. This must be a trick of the mind.
Maybe I ate the wrong grass. This is not how it should be, this is not what suits me, is this what it’s like to be free?
We’ll maybe it is! Maybe this is what lies beyond the hill. It sure looks bountiful.
And the shepherds don’t even see it. They’re asleep, like sheep!
But I can not even sing along, I can only cry.
I don’t like the corny chorus but I can’t help crying along!
And the angels look beautiful, there’s nothing wrong.
But no! I will resist this stupid song, I will be a sheep! I will...
Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.
I won’t join the angels – I will join the angels
I won’t join the angels – I will join the angels
I won’t join the angels – I will join the angels
I won’t – I will
I won’t – I will
I won’t – I will
Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.

Oh come, little children, oh come, one and all.
To Bethlehem haste, to the manger so small.
He’s born in a stable for you and for me,
The hay is His pillow, the manger His bed
He’s born in a stable for you and for me,
now "Glory to God!" sing the angels on high
See Mary and Joseph with love beaming eyes
Their Sweet baby Jesus so meek and so mild,
He’s born in a stable for you and for me,
The wise men are kneeling, with hearts full of love,
While angels sing loud hallelujahs above.
He’s born in a stable for you and for me,
Kneel down and adore Him with shepherds today,
Lift up little hands now and follow his ways
He’s born in a stable for you and for me
Rejoice that a Savior from sin you can boast,
And join in the song of the heavenly host.
He’s born in a stable for you and for me
Rejoice that a Savior from sin you can boast,
And join in the song of the heavenly host.
Rejoice that a Savior from sin you can boast,
And join in the song of the heavenly host.
The son of men came to the world
To bring his peace into the world
The son of men came to the world
To bring his peace into the world
